In September I shall be walking to Finland. Well, not quite, but I will be doing a very long walk in Finland as part of the ANTI Festival of Live Art. This piece will consist of a durational performance covering the marathon distance over a 1km lap, which I will repeat just over forty times. The lap will pass through various points in the centre of Kuopio, with a hub positioned in the busy shopping centre, where visitors will be able to keep track of my progress on a digital display. Remote viewers will be able to follow my journey online through my regular Twitter updates, and gain a sense of what this one day ‘commute’ really feels like.
