EasyExercises

2002, web based

This is a project was created in collaboration with New Media Designer Edward Hill who built the website using Flash MX. With the support of a Digital Arts Bursary from East Midlands Arts, I developed a web-based project giving instruction in an exercise program for people who are disinclined to exercise. The process involved a great deal of experimentation, looking at presenting my work as both still and moving images on the internet.

The project was originally inspired by a book found in a charity shop: ‘Isometric Power Exercises’ by Bruce Tegner shows how to incorporate exercise into activities such as dressing and driving a car. Through easyexercises.com, I applied this technique to activities practised today, such as the use of mobile telephones and remote controls.
