Inside Out

March 2002, Rochdale

Shortly after my Degree Show exhibition in 2001, Rochdale Museum and Art Gallery commissioned me to create a piece of work which would draw attention to their building, and the museum and gallery collections. The building had been closed for some time for refurbishment and, in the build-up to the re-opening they wanted to let people know what was going to be happening. I decided to look at the museum and gallery collections, selecting items I liked and making illustrative representations of them. These images were projected onto the front of the building at the beginning of March 2002, as part of a series of pre-opening events. In addition to the projections, I designed posters which were displayed in information points around the town of Rochdale.
