Nornir

Ongoing 2002, Manchester

I was commissioned in 2002 by Manchester based company, Nornir, to create a series of postcards to promote activities for young people in North Manchester. These postcards were distributed throughout the North Manchester area in youth centres, libraries and other public buildings. For these cards, I wanted to encourage the young people to picture themselves taking part in the various activities, including sports, computing and music. To do this, I created images portraying a young person trying out something new, but made it appear as an outfit or identity that could be adopted by anyone. The project received a very positive response, with another set of cards being produced for the Wythenshawe area of Manchester.
