Artinit

It’s a busy weekend! As well as the Sports Day Artists’ Dance-Off 2007, I will have work featuring in an event taking place in Pontypridd in south Wales. Artinit has been devised by the Pontypridd Artists’ Network, and will be launched at a day of artists’ film and video at the Muni Arts Centre & Cinema on Saturday May 26th. The event is part of Pontypridd’s Fringe Festival and my work will take the form of multiples to be sold in little boxes which are being distributed by ‘ushers’ at the event.

I was invited to take part by my friend, and fellow artist Jackie Chettur.

Sports Day Artists’ Dance-Off 2007

Join Sports Day this Saturday 26 May on Hackney Marshes in east London for the most anticipated event of the sporting calendar – the Artists’ Dance Off 2007.
16 brave contestants will battle it out in a series of head-to-head knock out dancing rounds. They will have 30 seconds to impress the audience with their most outrageous moves, to out dance their competitor and make it one step closer to lifting that much coveted Dance Off trophy.
To sign up please arrive from 13:00 on the day or email Sports Day in advance. Remember if you have a particularly favourite song; please bring a CD with you. The event starts promptly at 14:00. For map and further details please visit the Grunts for the Arts website.
This event takes place as part the Artists’ Sports Day organised by Grunts for the Arts, which aims to act as a protest of sorts against the recent siphoning off of 35% or the Arts Council Grants for the Arts funds in order to pay for the 2012 Olympics.

Why not take a look at – and sign – the petition here.

World’s Wackiest Websites

Oh dear, I find myself being considered wacky again (if it’s not ‘wacky’ it’s ‘weird and wonderful’!). Lost-Something has been nominated to be featured on this website.

Cardiff Commission

I am currently starting work on a new commission in the Cardiff Bay area, which is undergoing a new development programme to include a fantastic new library (with a ‘green roof’) and shopping and residential areas. The commission is being organised by CBAT, who I will be talking to this week to establish how I can take my project forward.

I’m quite excited to be working on a project in my home country of Wales at last – da iawn!

UPDATE!

I have now added my archive of past projects, which can be seen at the bottom of the page. There are still some design changes to be made, so keep checking back for the new look AP.com!

e-co clothing

This isn’t my work, but my brother’s new company (with logo and catalogue design by Edward – what a talented family!). You might like to have a look here.

Also, Edward has been busy working on the website for a great film that is coming out on April 13th: Lives of Others. The film won an Oscar for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards.

Have a look here.

Yahoo Award

I just had a big box delivered, and I wasn’t expecting it. My Yahoo Finds of the Year Award, an actual award to go in the loo…although it’s quite big!
