(Re)appropriating

[deletia] is a publishing collective based in Manchester and, in 2005, ran a series of interventions in Art Review magazine. I was commissioned to make work to appear in the December issue and wanted to play around with the idea that the magazine could have a life beyond its initial reading. I worked with a few ideas and eventually settled on an idea that offered a playful suggestion for an alternative use. I wanted my work to stand out from the usual advertisements that fill this space and used an illustrative style to contrast to the mostly photographic imagery of the magazine.
